Discount Auto is the only place I'll go. They saved me twice and this is how. My car was low on antifreeze so I thought I had a leak. I took it to Honest 1. They told me I needed a water pump and at the same time they should replace the timing chain. The estimate was over 1200.. When I got the car back the light on the dash that indicates your coolant is low was no longer working. I called them and asked if they had disconnected anything. They said no they wouldn't do that. It was probably a sensor. I didn't like their estimate or trust them about the light so I decided to take it to Discount Auto. They found two wires that weren't connected for the warning light. They also told me that my car wasn't leaking anywhere. They said the water could have simply evaporated. That was three months ago and it hasn't lost water since. Yesterday I took my car into Master Tech because oil was in the??? I don't remember what it's called but it's a place oil wouldn't normally be found. They said I needed a PCV valve and it had to be replaced with the valve cover gasket. It would cost around 650.. I called discount Auto for another price. There price was so much lower I said you must be making a mistake the PCV valve is 172. Just for the part. He said he wasn't wrong bring the car and the estimate in. I called some parts places to see how much the valve was from them. No one had it listed. I even called the dealer and they didn't either. When I brought the car in right away the mechanic said it doesn't have a PCV valve and it's normal to have oil there when a car doesn't have one. I should have taken my car to Discount Auto in the first place both times. They have done work for me in the past and it was excellent. I never knew finding an honest shop could be so hard.

You will not find a more honest, reputable, accommodating and reliable auto repair shop in the Portland area. They are a family run business with your best interests at hand. Just great people. We purchased a vehicle from their used auto shop, Autobon Auto Sales, which is on the same property, and were very impressed. Emile went above and beyond to take care of us. My husband and I were in need of a safe, reliable car for our kids to share. After hours of looking we came in to look at a specific vehicle that caught our eyes from the inventory posted on their website. Emile made a special trip that evening (after hours) to meet us at his shop. After we explained that we needed an additional vehicle for our teenagers, he steered us in the direction of another car of the same make and model, which happened to cost less than the original vehicle we intended to check out. He said "if this was for my son, I would choose this car over that car". He explained his reasoning which made good sense to us and we drove home with a new car to surprise our kids. They were beyond thrilled and we were very satisfied. From that point on we have chosen Discount Auto to service our other vehicles. Emile and his family are intelligent service and sales providers with ethical business practices and strong core values. Just good people.
