No nonsense deli and shop for cold drinks and sandwiches, neighborhood feel and a very nice location.
Ross Island Grocery is a great place to study and have a snack. It is never too noisy or packed, but has a nice productive energy. They make good coffee too. If you need to pick up some milk or eggs when you go home, they have a small selection of essentials that is always stocked. They also have my favorite boxed wine!
My favorite lunch cafe in Portland, 'cause of a few things: 1) best Reuben in town, 2) bottomless Stumptown coffee for $2, 3) great burgers and local brews on draft, 4) you can take home a six-pack of the highest quality beer for later, and 5) I love the casual, spacious atmosphere, inside and out. *LOVE*
Laid back, real service, clean atmosphere. The veggie breakfast sandwich has great veggies and mushrooms on it and the coffee is delicious.
