The only place I go. I live on the west side and I've tried to find a closer groomer. But the service and professionalism at catsinthecity is top notch. I have been 2x and plan on going back. Shawn is most kind and patient. Do not hesitate to ask questions they will be answered. Plus my kitty seems to enjoy the grooming.
Two of my cats stated here in summer 2014 (i.e. this is a long overdue post), while my family went on an extended vacation. It was the only time I've invested in an out-of-home, pet-housing service, and it was great. Allie and Mookie were much better off there than facing an automatic feeder for over a week.
Took great care of my cats! Contacted me with concerns. Very clean, organized and attentive. First time boarding my two cats. Great experience!
The staff was nice but super awkward and weird. They don't communicate with you at all or make you feel comfortable. When we got there they didn't give us any details of how everything works, since we're beginners and never left our cat anywhere it was new to us. They didn't show as the room where our baby was staying or nothing. Once we picked up our cat they didn't bother on telling us anything about our cat, like how she behaved, if she ate or did anything at all. So yeah we're not taking our cat here again.
My cat is a special needs boy. He has cancer and hyperthyroidism and requires both medications and some hand feeding (the amount of hand feeding varies with how much he eats on his own on a given day, but is anywhere from 3 to 6 times a day.) His cancer is in remission, and his hyperthyroidism is controlled with medication. He need transdermal medication in his ear twice a day, and several pills. My cat responds terribly when he goes to the vet so I asked my vet what to do for boarding and they referred me to Cats in the City. My worries were put at ease right away as after I explained my case they responded saying they would require a standing prescription for an appetite stimulant and sub-cutaneous fluids, and a buffet of food options so they are able to intervene in case my cat wouldn’t eat. I was so impressed they understood the medical situation perfectly without skipping a beat. Signing my cat up was easier than I thought, it only took 5 minutes to drop him off, and the week of boarding went very well. I was able to focus on the wedding and my boy was in good hands.
