Agreed! Must visit place. Hiking trails free regular rose garden is free. Do not be mistaken Japanese rose garden is NOT free. Beautiful place. Good playground for kids. Random archery practice too?! We had fun.

A "must-visit" location by virtue of multiple attractions located here. Most people will come here for the International Rose Test Garden (free), Portland Japanese Garden ($14.95 for adults), and the Oregon Zoo ($14.95 for adults). Other attractions located within Washington Park include Hoyt Arboretum (free), Portland Children's Museum ($10.95 per), an outdoor archery range (free, bring your own equipment), a children's playground (free), various memorials (Holocaust, Vietnam, etc.), and sports areas (soccer, tennis, etc.). There is a seasonal shuttle available. It runs daily from May through September (9 AM - 7 PM). Not sure about the other months, though I believe they have the limited schedule on those other months. The International Rose Test Garden is a good place to visit and walk around, and the Portland Japanese Garden is a short walk from there. Both of those locations offer prime photography spots. When setting a Portland itinerary, one should definitely check out Washington Park if they've never been.

The Zoo was amazing!! My kids had a blast and enjoyed all the animals and exhibitions! It was very clean. The staff and experts were really nice and extremely knowledgeable. The only bad thing was all the other zoo goers who apparently had no manners what so ever and grown adults were pushing, shoving and pulling little kids out of the way to see the animals. Adults with kids keep your kids really close and be prepared to hit anyone who tries to trample your babies. Other than that our visit was super fun!!

This is a beautiful quiet space located just outside of Portland down town district. It is a great place to take children. It has many spaces for taking a short walk or just sitting to relax. I strongly recommend this for a quick relaxing visit as well as longer visits to to take a quiet walk amount the natural beauty.

This was the first hiking stop on my trip to Oregon and I was not disappointed! Very well manicured, I’ve wanted to go to an Arboretum for a while and my friend and I stayed near that side for the day, near the Forestry Center and Memorial side. I felt like a kid on a field trip all over again! The trails were beautiful, the lookout points were breathtaking. We had such a good time and it was a cloudy day so we got a good amount of footwork done before the rain. There are Parking lots and trail markers so you don’t get lost and different trails for a variety of time that you want to spend in there. Grateful for the experience!
