So my trunk won't open. But it's unlocked. It's in the unlocked position, the lever inside the car, you can hear it not hitting the latch. The lock is stuck in the unlocked position but the trunk is sealed shut and the key will not turn. My key is duplicated but it's opened my trunk many times before. And then it just stopped. This kinda stuff just happens. My car is getting old and this is not exactly preventable or my fault.
Super helpful! Great local owned shop.
Trustworthy, honest, reliable and local. This is the only place in Portland we bring our business to. Never a single problem, prices are fair and they know their stuff without a doubt.
I'd like to think that I didn't get which end of a key goes into a lock explained to me in great detail because I'm young and female and sound like it but who knows.
I have been using Atlasta Lock & Safe for all of my locksmith needs for over 20 years. No matter what type of lock or key problem I have brought to them, they have always had an answer. Every key they have made for me worked perfectly. This week I had them make duplicate keys for my motorcycle. It was a special key. One of the locksmiths came out to make sure that it worked. It worked perfectly.
It was recommended to me that I find a locksmith. So I called and was told to talk to Keith. Keith doesn't let me explain the entire problem before he starts talking over me. He tells me my key is wrong, not hearing that that key has worked before. I keep trying to tell him what is actually wrong and he talks over me to the point where he's telling me which end of a key goes in a lock. He's confused by the word "horizontal."
tldr; Listen to your potential customers. Get someone with a male voice to talk to them for you. Better yet, don't bother.
Anyway. I took me car to Comfort Auto Body and Repair on MLK instead. They've always been sweet and efficient and they were able to confirm that it was not in fact the key itself, but the trunk cables and latch that open it in the first place that were the problem. They didn't charge me for that assessment and I'm heading over in the morning to fix it.
Real locksmiths. Great place.
