A blast from the past. Service counter was so helpful talking me through an issue with my turntable. Only problem is they are so backed up they can't take on new service work. Nonetheless incredibly helpful for no cost. If you need any audio anything this needs to be your first stop. Great used section as well. Like a record store where you just want to go and look around.
I was here 2 months ago because I came across a vintage record player and wanted to see if it could be brought into working order. I carried it in and the guys worked their magic. They told me the history of the turntable, replaced the needle and fixed the rotation speed. I was amazed at the service. I especially appreciated the fact that they could tell I had no idea what I was doing and took the time to explain different things about piecing together a vintage stereo system. Sounds expensive right?? WRONG, this place rocks. I will be coming back here for products and service because service like this is hard to come by.
I came in here with my two young children and I was really stunned at the friendliness of the staff. Service can be very iffy when you get into niche enthusiast stores like this but they were wonderful. No suspicious looks or rudeness about bringing kids (though my children were very well-behaved and didn't touch anything as instructed) into a high-end store and they engaged my son in conversation. They have a great selection of turntables and other A/V gear.
Pretty much the only place left in Portland where you can get specialty high-end audio stuff. From Grado headphones, to electrostatic speakers. They're very knowledgeable about audio.
Extremely helpful - even a novice like myself got expert help and advice. I put off going here for a long time because I thought it was just for audiophiles. Even though they have super high end stuff, they often have very reasonably priced used equipment. It's amazing to see the Nice Stuff too. Super nice staff. Many thanks!
