His nurses and office staff are equally praiseworthy: helpful, courteous, pleasant, and competent.
Dr. Barlow is a throwback to the days when physicians truly cared about the health and well being of their patients. In my recent visit, he was unhurried and thorough in his appraisal and diagnosis, and clearly took an interest in me as a person--not just another unit of assembly line healthcare, or the source of co-pay $$. For the first time in years I felt the visit had more to do with competent medical professionalism and was not merely a financial transaction. It restored my faith in doctors--at least one of them.
I have not seen Doctor Barlow yet but I hope to soon. My right Saliva gland got an infection and plugged up. The Providence ER had no way to do anything & was setup for a Dr. in the Gresham clinic. She ran a wire into it but it is still plugged. It swelled up so much that I had a lump in my throat right over my Adam's apple. Today I went to my Regular Dr., Dr. Hsu & he had his help check around fro someone who knows how to ream out a saliva gland. My Sons was reamed out when he was about 11 years old. The Dr. did not have a dull needle so he took the syringe with the needle out on the sidewalk & scraped it dull. My son has no problems. My right saliva gland swelled up in 1999 & I went to the St. Francis ER and a Dr. tried to ream it out. he could not get it done so he got another Dr. & with my help we got it reamed out. It never gave trouble till the last few days of July 15. The medical out here in Oregon is like the 1940's in Kansas. It is 22:00 Thur. July 21 2016 & I just now put on Bengay to see if that will loosen up the plug. It is hard as a rock just below my right ear. Do a image search for plugged saliva gland to see what it can do.
