Being an avid cyclist who owns 3 bikes, I've used many fitters. As I've aged, my body has changed and I started feeling discomfort with my saddle, got pain in my shoulders and cramps in my legs.

The last time I was at WBW I noticed a new fitting machine, The Guru, and talked to Tyger Pliska their certified technician about my issues. Long story short, he thought a fitting could solve all these issues-- and he was right.

The issue was resolved quickly and with much needed transparency. Western Bike Works made it "right" and while I initially swore that this long-time customer would never return, I am happy that I have the confidence back to continue using this place as my LBS. They are back as my go-to Cannondale dealer and overall stop for all things two-wheeled.

Finally, I asked him to develop a training plan for me to raise my endurance for an up-coming century ride and he e-mailed me a 4 page day-by-day what-to-do report. This is AWESOME service!

WBW's Tyger: a GENIUS Bike fitter; Awesome Results

Excellent staff! They checked my old broken bike.

The guy is a genius -- not only using the Guru machine, but overriding the machine numbers with an incredible understanding of body mechanics.

There are some great people here. Some better than others, but generally one of the better shops in Portland.

After bringing some attention to a really bad experience that I had in regards to a potential bicycle purchase, the management of Western Bike Works reached out and let me vent some of my frustrations. The organization (Velotech is the parent company) made contact with me swiftly and at a management level that I was not expecting in regards to the problem that I had.

After a 1-1/2 hour intensive dialogue, using laser technology and incredible software, he developed a baseline of measurements, and trial positions on the dynamic bike simulator. As I pedaled the Guru, he adjusted the settings in real-time based on my feedback: raised the seat, positioned my reach closer and raised the stem height to reflect my comfort feedback. Finally, Tyger translated the machine settings to my bike. I rode 35 miles the next day and viola: NO PAIN; NO DISCOMFORT!

I have had very few solidly good experiences with bike shops. This was an exception. They spent tons of time with me finding the right bike and the right fit. I usually run into a lot of toxic masculinity and pretentiousness at bike shops, but I never felt that in the many hours I've spent with the 10 or so people I talked to there. Their customer service is top notch (as someone who hates being sold to), and I couldn't recommend them more.
