In a previous review of Lloyd Center, I remarked that most of the stores had been closed during a remodel. Now that the remodel is almost finished...most of the stores are still closed. The movie theater that used to be present is gone, as is the video arcade next to it (though hardly anybody went in there anyway), and what was once a bridal wear shop was curiously shuttered and closed on the Saturday I visited in October 2017. About half the mall is now seemingly office space. At least you can get around more easily now that the construction barriers are all gone, but the food court is about half as popular as it once was (it's largely Asian and Cajun-style cuisine, a Subway, and an Italian-style place - Billy Heartbeats is no more, it seems!).
I've heard it's a "dangerous" area but never seen anything worrying during the many many trips I've made to this mall, so I honestly have no idea why some people seem so wussy about this area.
It's a little rundown, but the ice rink inside is fun. I wish they had a better kids play area. It makes a huge difference to have a place for the kids to run around mid-shopping. They need a few more stores as well.
Normally, indoor malls in America are like a copy and paste. They aren’t unique at all, like the ones I’m used to in Europe and South America, but this one is pretty darn cool. The ice rink is beautiful. This place is different and it has a nice variety to eat in the food court
I mean, it's an improvement over how it was a little bit before, but compared to how it was a few years ago, it's still not quite as good as it could be.
I always love going here! They have nice entertainment shops and beauty parlors too where you can get your nails or eyebrows done. The food court is pretty darn decent and I've never had a bad time.
This is one of Portland's historic malls - maybe it's oldest. It has the basic mall store, a decent food court and you can ice skate! It's also conveniently located, right next to a MAX stop! I love to shop and then grab something to eat and sit at a table overlooking the ice skating rink.
They're missing out!
