Really enjoyed the location of this park, with transit (which was needed in our case) it’s a short trip to downtown Portland. Probably the most grass/space you’ll get compared to other parks around the city. If you don’t mind the yard work being done before 8am every couple mornings, it’s very well kept. Stayed here for at least 2 months, started out great. Then witnessed two emergency police/ambulance cases of drug abuse and domestic violence within the RV spaces and cross the street in the neighboring business parking lot. Another incident of police trolling the grounds, wandering around with flashlights. Had our bikes locked up to the back of our RV and had one stolen in the middle of the night. Left for 24 hours to come back and realize they now enforced a 2000 and newer age restriction in which we could no longer stay.
Rates are very fair, the office staff are super and eager to help.
The only bright spot here is the staff. They seem nice.
Sites are back to back and I am literally 2 inches from my neighbor to the rear - window to window. There's not enough room to park an RV and a car and I"m right next to a tree so no awning.
Anything more than 2 stars here is a marketing ploy...
Planes, trains and automobiles. 5:00 AM sharp every morning - fighter planes, commercial planes, a train nearby and every loud exhaust in town.
They do have cable TV - 10 stations and 8 of them are either PBS or infomercial stations. Wifi is a joke.
Love this RV park. But hate the traffic getting to the park, ie. I-5 through Delta Park sucking at best. But once you are in the park it is usually quite and the staff are very helpful and nice. It is an older park and spaces between RV are tight but still a pleasant stay.
Don't let the name fool you - there is no beach - in fact you can't see any water. There are a lot of stores - big box and places to eat on island. The only access - on or off is onto I-5 which at times can be backed up. One evening it took us an hour and 10 minutes to drive 1.7 miles to the entrance ramp to the island. It is also in the take off flight path of Portland International Airport and the planes are very loud - add the 9:00am flights of the military jets and you really have some noise. There is also a train that runs 24/7 and loud freighter horn noises. The park itself is quiet but the rest is pretty loud. The park is a mix of mobile homes and RV sites. There is a pool and playground area. The sites are pretty narrow and some you are almost touching your neighbors slide. We were in Site 827, a back in with full hook ups. There were no issues with any of the hookups. The site was very short - we have a 37 foot Class A with a tow dolly. The tow dolly was pushed under the back of the RV and we had to park in the overflow a few sites away. There was a picnic table on our site - some didn't have them. We were right across from the maintenance shed and the garbage dumpsters, at one point there were eight very full dumpsters for three days and we could smell them inside our RV. There were also a number of homeless people going through the dumpsters early mornings and late evenings. We stayed August 25-Sept 1, 2017 and paid $28.43 a night with our Good Sam discount. WiFi was very weak and our Verizon signal was strong.
They allow pets but there's no area for them. Just the couple of square feet next to your unit. They're trying with the landscaping but that just entails laying down mulch by the trees. The rest is mud/grass mix.
What a great place! Well kept, quiet, even with kids allowed and pets. Laundry facilities are nice with plenty of machines. The surrounding area and mall are well kept and clean. Security makes you feel comfortable. I guess my only complaint would be the showers don't seem to be getting the cleaning necessary to prevent the tile from turning black, but that wouldn't stop me from staying there.
This park is joined by a sketchy trailer park in the middle of a "rough" neighborhood. The trailer park's school bus stops right outside my door - 4 times a day.
