The hotel is newly remodeled and the rooms are very comfy. However the vanity fell on my feet when I leaned against the sink to brush my teeth. It didn't seem as though it was attached properly and was housing the toilet paper holder. It could have injured a small child or elderly person as the WHOLE 4 ft long piece of wood fell out and onto my foot. Very dangerous. The hotel is also not close to much however I believe the shuttle will take guests to a local eatery as nothing is within walking distance. Other than that my stay was comfortable and adequate for one short night.
Decent hotel right on the airport grounds. It's under renovation right now and it's already looking very good. Lobby and restaurant and very nice. Brand new menu in the restaurant. Room was comfortable. Fridge but no microwave. This is not the hotel to go to if you're staying here for a few days to visit Portland, as it's pretty isolated due to location on airport grounds. Also, several rooms overlook runway and can get pretty noisy. They do proved a pair of ear plugs next to the bed.
Stayed here for a conference this past weekend. The hotel is under construction which only affected the lobby area but the rooms were nice and modern. Our shower didn't work right and it took until our third day and asking twice to get someone to come fix the handle. The rooms had a fridge and coffeemaker, no microwave. We loved the beds, they were so soft and comfortable. The only real issue I had was the pool and hot tub were green. We watched people swim in it all weekend and waited until the last night to decide if we would test it out. We stuck our feet in the hot tub for maybe 20-30 minutes. After flying home the next day all three of us were sick and had to take at least 2 days off of work. Not sure if the green pool water meant a low chlorine level allowing bacteria to grow or something but it could be.
I understand that this is an airport hotel and as such people are usually just looking for a place to rest their head before they fly out again. That being said, this hotel feels isolated from anything near by and is in need of an upgrade (which actually they are in the process of). This upgrade also means that there is construction happening everywhere. If this allowed for half stars I would give them 3.5 as I feel like the rooms were quite nice and so we're the staff which is huge for a hotel. Once the remodel is done I would probably give a 4 star review :)
While I was waiting for event to start Sterling helped me find a hotel for an event in Seattle next month. She was amazing. I have dietary restrictions and the 3 choices for menu options each had something I have to avoid. Ultimately one of the workers tearing down another answered my question about how to reach kitchen staff. Soon the Catering mgr and banquet mgr were all helping and the chef accommodated my needs. So impressed with the staff. They found my table and it was perfect. THANK YOU. THANK YOUR CREW.
