Excellent, but plan ahead, if your in a hurry, the 10 minute shuttle ride, once it gets there, kinda harshed my groove! Ha. But excellent otherwise! Thanks!
After reading all the terrible reviews about how they scam people I decided to cancel my reservation. They told me on the phone that they will happily cancel it with no fees but then charged me $50 to cancel. Awful company.

Nice people to deal with, reasonable prices. I had a Kia Soul and it was a great car. The only thing I would do differently next time is maybe rent the GPS. My phone GPS worked fine but having one attached to the dash would be better. Thanks, Payless! I will be seeing you again.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. While on a medical related trip to Portland, we needed to rent a car. We found Payless online. Great price. Advertising a Honda Civic for $32.00 per day. Then, AFTER I reserved the car, the directions said I could pick up at the arrivals building. Here is where it goes bad. We had to board a shuttle (which comes only every 30 minutes), to an abandoned part of town, 1/2 an hour from the airport. Then, at the check-in desk, I was told that the car in the ad was for "appearance only". Huh? What they COULD offer me was a 'Smart' car, or the tiniest Nissan I ever saw. My knees hit the dashboard. We upgraded, and was given a car that the brakes were bad. They locked up with the slightest touch. Then we were given another very small car. They advertised $32.00 per day, which was very reasonable. When we looked at the contract, at return, it charged us another $40.00 per day for who knows what. Plus $40.00 for 'fueling', which I had returned when I showed them the receipt I had for filling up 5 minutes before. (It was $1.85) I was in Portland for a kidney transplant. This company is straight bait and switch. And once your 20 miles from anything, with no way back. (The shuttle was for "customers only", we had no choice but to rent something there.
Soon after I returned my Payless hire car (to Portland Airport), I was informed it had been found to be excessively dirty and that I would be charged $250. I objected, strenuously, and was then advised, in writing, with apologies, no such charge would be made. To my surprise and annoyance, $250 was however charged to my credit card account. Once again, I objected and once again Payless apologised. But guess what? No repayment of the $250 has yet been made, 3 months later. So watch out and keep careful records. Never Payless again.
