Sincerely,
My husband Bobby & I visited the Oregon Zoo this past Monday around 1pm & planned to stay at least 3-4 hours taking our time with each exhibit but instead only enjoyed seeing probably only about 1/4 of the animals before profusely sweating, getting dizzy spells, heat exhaustion & dying of thirst. We planned on it being in the 85-90 degree range but it exceeded to 97 that day, used to Oregon weather I wore a thin 1/2 sleeve low collar tee-shirt & shorts, Bobby in shorts & tank.
We expected the gift shop or food items would be out of our budget range so we ate lunch before we left home to come to the zoo. We were kinda disappointed that the Oregon Zoo, with constant cold flowing waterfalls, fountains & sprinklers in the animal enclosures has obviously shown how important staying hydrated & water is too all the creatures residing in your facility but then charged visitors so much, $3.50 for a tiny 12 oz. bottle of water that wasn't even cold but warm room temperature. We couldn't really afford it but had no choice & bought 1 bottle to share with my husband who is also disabled.. I wouldn't complain but I would think you should treat the visitors as good as the animals & supply cold water drinking fountains all around grounds on the pathways. Thanks for reading whoever and maybe when we visit the Oregon Zoo next summer, we can make the walk a happily hydrated journey..
Great Interactive educational area that's fun for kids and adults alike.
