As an army veteran I'm concerned about why we invited the anarchy and destruction of Portland.
Just look around down town.
This City needs a Trump!
Yet we fight tooth an nail to stop a local man from speaking against Sharia.
He seems more concerned with spending valuable recourses on forigners who do not agree with the lbgt community or respect woman's rights.
Visited my daughter in Portland recently. There is a lot to like...food, etc, but due to the dirty, unsanitary conditions we are not recommending it. We live in CA but am I from TX, in fact Portland reminds me of Austin...a very trashy nasty Austin. We are well travelled, Canada, Mexico and most of South America...most recently Ireland and England.
I worked for a tourist driven city. Trash cans in parks and in tourist areas were emptied daily, public bathrooms power washed at least once a day. Your Mayor needs to get his stuff together.
Yet mayor wheeler does not care for our citezense. Or our homeless.
Thanks to this mayor, the city is a pigsty with transients and their dogs on practically every street corner!!! Watch your step as to not step into human feces!!! Tent city and transient hippies camped out on sidewalks even in downtown. City caters to the lowlifes but screws over the residents!!! Police are useless. They treat these transients better than the taxpayers!!! City has gone from the greatest to one of the worst!!!
Portland has I diverse group for lbgt and homeless American adults and children.
I am not some rich stuffy type. Jeans, t-shirts and tattoos are my style. Shabby, divey, funky is great, but trashy, stinky does not get my tourist dollar....and we have some to spend.
While in PDX we covered the whole city. Virtually everywhere public trash cans were overflowing....stuff blowing down the street. Public restrooms in high tourist areas like by the river downtown looked like the had not been cleaned in days. Signs describing points of interest on the river were so degraded you could not read them. My wife, who is from Southern Louisiana commented the French Quarter in New Orleans is cleaner and in better condition.....not a compliment.
I am saddened our government hates our citezense so much they will leave them homeless with children to import others at a much greater cost.
portland's hop on hop off trolley: this pink trolley is not hop on and hop off and it is certainly not a trolly. It is however expensive! everybody who begins this tour must come down to pioneer square buy a ticket for the whole tour. you can buy online which i did for $128 dollars for 4 people. the receipt you get clearly says you can board on any of the en-route stops. That is totally untrue. EVERYBODY MUST BUY OR HAVE THEIR ON LINE TICKETS CONFIRMED AT THE PIONEER SQUARE. They also say that u can do the tour in 1 and one half hours. That is true ONLY if your do not get off at any of the stops. If u get off at the rose garden as we did. It will be one hour before a "trolly" comes by. The fact of the matter is that they only have two 'TWO TROLLEYS" Probably most annoying is the fact that even if u buy the tickets on line u still have to get them confirmed at pioneer square. As we rolled to those other stops we often saw foreign visitors who totally confused about the where to get on the the trolley. They would point at the pink sign and the driver would say: "no u must go the the pioneer square to get tickets" The people would hold out their on line receipt in total confusion. Not a pretty sight I noticed that this tour is run by gray line which i assume used to be in the bus business.That explains a lot. The city of Portland should do something about this.
Our homeless family's with children take a back seat as our mayor would rather import someone else and help them with snap tanf and hud.
