I have been seeing Dr. Phan since I was a child and he still never fails to recount my visits when he was back at Hollywood Dental. He is a welcoming person who truly cares about his patients. In addition to thoroughly examining your teeth he checks in on any personal stories you may have told him previously. He has given me genuine advice about my oral hygiene maintenance and even college life!
The office itself is new and nicely decorated but the parking lot is a bit rough and needs paving but don't let that stop you from a visit.
Doesn't listen to patients or remember them ever. And lies about what will be covered by insurance. If your Asian there really nice to you.
The clinic is fairly new and he has maintained it beautifully. Their instruments (more specifically the Xray machine) are top-notch and seem to be of the latest models. There is plenty of parking and a good sized waiting area, not that you'll spend much time there. I highly recommend TLC Dentistry.
We took our 7 year old daughter here and it was a great experience. He was very professional and has a great sense of humor that even made us laugh. He made sure our daughter was comfortable before doing any actual work on her teeth.
I went to see Dr Phan to get some cavities filled and it was a truly horrible experience. He wouldn't stop drilling when I told him he was hurting me. When I continued he'd ignore me and then finally tell me to "just power through it". I kept telling him to stop and he just kept telling me to "power through it, almost done" even though he wasn't even close to being done.
If you value your teeth stay clear of this guy!
He was also extremely rough and tore my gums up just flossing my teeth. I actually spit out a chunk of gum after I left his office. And when I foolishly went back to tell him that floss was getting caught on a tooth that he'd just put a filling in, he showed me I was wrong by jamming the floss next to that tooth and yanking it out forcefully several times. I gave up insisting that I was getting floss caught in the filling when I realized that asking him to be more gentle was pointless. Now I can't use floss picks between those teeth without having to awkwardly cut it out of the back of my mouth. I was never afraid of going to the dentist like I am after seeing him. And my new dentist said he drilled so deep she can't fix the shoddy work he did.
