You have NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM TO FIND AN AWESOME SALON HERE THAT SPECIALIZES IN BLACK HAIR. Seriously. Black people are like unicorns here in Portland City, and finding a good hairstylist here is even more extremely rare! Since moving here from North Carolina, I have been searching for healthy hair and cute styles and I'm super glad I came across this place. My hairstylist is Miko and she will have your hair slayed to the GODS and she also really cares about your hair's health. If I could give her and this hair salon 6 stars I would. Everyone is super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient at styling hair. Another plus is that you won't have to wait all day just to get your hair styled.
It was my first time in the salon I was referred by a family member and was a little nervous for I have not been to a salon in a long time. Everyone greeted me with a smile which instantly made me feel like I was in the right place!! My stylist was Miko and she was GREAT!!!! She was very sweet and very thorough. She took her time and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back to see her!!!
Been going to Ynique for 4 years, she's very flexible, talented, nice, and reliable. Only con is she gets booked up far out so be sure to make your next month of appointments if she's your stylist. Overall, the shop is friendly, stays clean, good separation of space. The shampoo room is cramped with the dryers but I don't spend a lot of time in there.
Love Trina and Joy at Jaylah Rose Trina is so easy on your head. These are Very Nice Christian women. They all do an awesome job and the prices are reasonable.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place and I will continue to be a regular here! *Also as a side note* This place is not just for African-american hair. They can and will service any and all hair types. :)
