Yeah, it looked like a fun place ... showed up Wednesday Aug 23rd; and it was closed. ... looked like it had been for a while. Wish I had taken a photo.
Concept and branding flow throughout the bar but the staff needs to be better managed. Door security has always been very professional with me but service and drink response times are horrible. It is easy to stand at the bar and get ignored. Food is good but very slow to get served. The DJ was good and the evenings we were there were always lively but this bar loses lots of revenue due to poor service. Patrons would eat and drink more if they could only get served.
I really enjoyed the old bars theme and vib. It's been remodeled and it's just stupid looking, tufted vinyl, Victorian wall paper, gaudy chandeliers and fake rock. Happy hour menu starts at $6 for pretzel dogs and a draft PBR costs $5. I'll never be back, I'll miss the old Bar it was a fun place but not any more.
$3 thimbles of alcohol, novelty cups you can't take with you, music too loud to even communicate your drink order, weird security guard towers, staff who don't know anything about the event the bar is hosting...yeah, I'll pass next time.
This place is a little small and gets crowded around 11:30 on Saturday nights. I read a lot of up and down reviews but decided to check it out after getting an invite. I had no real problems because I wasn't served. I did, however, find it odd that the DJ was playing censored hip hop that was extremely explicit.
