This place would so much better if they got rid of the punk ass white guy with a goatee who thinks he's a "gangsta" and constantly flips people off and verbally harasses them from the temple steps when they're simply walking on the other side of the street... Super annoying and revolting to have to witness EVERYDAY. They need to do something about him before something worse happens.
I have enjoyed visiting this temple many times. I find the building and surrounding gardens to be very peaceful and full of beauty . Since I doubt act "Heidi: is Buddhist, She doesn't understand the basics of gardening in the Chines fashion. ..trimming trees or shrubs to be a certain shape may seem a little extreme...but in the end all looks good as it fills into form. Don't criticize what your clueless about. remember that these people who are Monks may not speak english very well and may feel awkward. Being a Monk doesn't mean you have to chit chat with everyone who happens to come by...I see many smiles from everyone I meet there...
I have pleasure of living across the street from this monastery, which at face value, would seem like it would be very peaceful and what not. Unfortunately, the white male with a goatee named "Derek" that frequents the temple often makes living here a burden. Just today, he told my father who was out walking my dog to go **** himself, and that if my dad didnt leave the area, "Derek" was going to take my dog (he actually called her a b****, which is about the only thing he has ever actually gotten right) to the vet and have her put down. Mind you, I have a completely harmless dog and nothing that this gentlemen said was provoked. If I had the power to give a zero star for this temple I would because they keep this guy around even after knowing how much of a nuisance he is to those that live in the area.
Is beautiful, you feel welcomed and very at peace.
The temple is beautiful. But not peaceful. These folks claim to be monks, and continually kill trees that are NOT sick, for there own gain. I live behind the temple and see these people and this place for what it really is. Buddha would role in his grave if he saw what these people are doing in his name. They are also not friendly, or neighborly.
